Why will this event be Idaho’s Largest Wedding?  Couples will compete against one another for large prizes during the events leading up to the wedding.   The winning couple will have to be married at Sandy Downs on 7/11/09.   They will have a very unique wedding in front of the general public with a unique guest to marry them (Elvis impersonator) and a performance after the wedding. The couple will begin their reception by receiving a car(Dodge Dakota)from the Idaho Wedding Guide.  The winning couple will receive VIP Passes for the BRIDE AND GROOM to "Rock the Falls" with a chance to meet Great White, Fire House, Still Standing and 2 AM Logic on July 18th, 2009. The couple will also receive 30 complimnetary concert tickets to this event to give to their friends or family. 

Wedneck Wedding Sweepstakes Contest Rules: 

1) You must be 18 years of age and pre-register on-line and preferrably show up on July 8th at the Hard Hat Steak Dinner on Wednesday Night to learn more information about the events.  

2) You must be willing to participate in 10 elimination events on 7/9/09 and 7/10/09.     See times and rules below!  

3) You must have a valid marriage license and each contestant have valid identification and sign a liability waiver form.

4) If you win the Grand Prize ( a car and thirty concert tickets for your wedding party ) you must get married at Sandy Downs on 7/11/09 in front of a large audience.   (Music, Officiant, Flowers, Decorations and Entertainment will be provided. 

5) The couples competing get free admission to the Idaho Summer Festival. Show your Marriage License to the staff at the front door to get in free or you each be charged Admission. If your friends and family want to come Admission is ($1.00)

We need couples willing to get married at Sandy Downs in Idaho Falls on 7/11/09 and participate in 10 EVENTS against other couples held on 07/09/09 and 07/10/09. See the Wedneck Events at the bottom of this page.

How do I register to win a wedding, car or other prizes? 1) You must be 18 and have valid identification (driver’s license) and a marriage license. You must sign a liability waiver form and register on-line at IdahoWeddingGuide.com or come to the Historic Shelton Wedding & Reception Center or Flowers at the Falls.   All couples must be registered by July 8th, 2009 to compete in the Wedneck Wedding Sweepstakes.    

When and where and what time do events take place?  All events take place at Sandy Down’s in Idaho Falls on July 9th and 10th!  Wedneck Events are in various locations in the infield and on the grounds.  Couples will need to check in at the Idaho Wedding Guide Booth located in the infield!   Couples only need to show up at one of the time slots each day to complete the five events( for example; 5:00PM Thursday and 3:00PM Friday .   Wedneck Events on Thursday will take place every 2 hours with starting times of  3:00PM, 5:00PM, 7:00PM on Thursday.  Wedneck Events on Friday will take place every two hours with starting times of 1:00PM, 3:00PM and 5:00PM   Competition will end by 7:00PM on Friday and the winners will be announced.

How are points awarded and how are winners determined?  Points are awarded by the couples  placement of finish in each event.   For example, if 50 couples enter the contest and the couple named  “Smith” places  (1st)  you get one point , the couple who places second named  “Johnson” gets 2 points,  the couple who places 50th named “Anderson” gets 50 points..   The couple with the LOWEST POINT TOTAL after two days WINS the WEDNECK WEDDING SWEEPSTAKES. 

All couples will have their point totals added up on Friday after all contests have been completed and the winner of the Wedneck Wedding Sweepstakes will be announced on Friday Night and other prizes will be given out to couples who competed in the events.   The winning couple will get married the next day at 6:00 PM and win a car and a free wedding !

Scheduled Elimination Events

Events will begin at 3PM on Thursday (Couples can complete all 5 events within two hours and can choose their starting times at either 3PM, 5PM or 7PM -  Each couple must have these 5 events completed by the end of Thursday to remain eligible for the Wedneck Wedding Sweepstakes).
Thursday
Garter Removal Contest

  1. The Guy sits in a chair and has five garters placed on his leg above his knee.
  2. The Girl has to remove the garters as fast as she can using no hands only her teeth.
  3. The Girl then has to shoot all 5 garters into a basket placed in front of her.
  4. Points are awarded for the event.

Wedding Music Contest

  1. This is a contest where couples work together to name songs.
  2. There will be a music track with a mixture of songs presented to each couple.
  3. The music track will be played two times.
  4. The couple has five minutes to write down on a piece of paper the songs they heard on the music track.
  5. The couple will be ranked by the number of songs they identified on the music track.
  6. Points will be awarded for the event.

Bridal Bouquet Contest

  1. The Guy is given three silk bridal bouquets to toss.
  2. The Guy has to face away from the circular target marked on the ground and throw each bouquet over his head.
  3. The Guy gets points by throwing his bridal bouquet closest to the bulls-eye in the circle.
  4. Points are awarded for the event.

Obstacle Course Contest

  1. There will be an obstacle course throughout the corals that has straw bales, mud, bells and other obstacles that has to be completed as fast as possible.  
  2. The obstacle course is a timed event with both the Guy and the Girl participating in the obstacle course.
  3. The Guy goes first and attempts to complete the course as fast as possible. He receives a time that he has completed the event.
  4. The Girl goes second and attempts to complete the course as fast as possible. She receives a time that she has completed the event.
  5. The times for the Guy and Girl are then added together for a total time for each couple.
  6. Points are awarded for the event.

Wedding Cake Eating Contest 

  1. This is a timed contest where each couple has to work together to get a piece of wedding cake on a table and then eat it.
  2. The Girl will be blind folded and have to walk to a table where there will be pieces of wedding cake on plates.
  3. The Guy has to give her directions to get back to the table where he is sitting.
  4. The Guy has to eat the piece of wedding cake as fast as he can with no hands.
  5. Points are awarded for the event based upon the couples time to complete the event.
  6. The couples receive a time and our ranked against other couples.

Events will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday (Couples can complete all 5 events within two hours and choose their starting times of either 1PM, 3PM or 5PM)
 All  events need to be completed by Friday Evening).
Friday

Wedding Rings in a Hay Stack Contest

  1. This is a timed contest where each couple must find two rings in a pile of hay.
  2. Each couple will enter the area where rings are hidden in hay and find two rings as fast as they can do it.
  3. Each couple will then bring the ring to the judge and place it in his or her hand and the task will be completed.
  4. The times will be calculated and points are awarded for the event. 

Trash the Tux and Wedding Dress Contest

  1. This is a contest where each couple has ten shots each with a paintball gun to hit a target (person or thing).
  2. The couple gets points for each target hit.
  3. Points are awarded for the event.
  4. The couple has a combined point total that will be added to their total score.

Kiss the Pig Contest (NOTE: Although “kissing a pig or having contact with a pig” has no correlation with getting the SWINE FLU this event may be modified or eliminated)

  1. This is a timed contest.
  2. The Girl will enter the ring where there is a greased pig.
  3. The Girl will grab the pig and take it to the guy.
  4. The guy will have to kiss the pig on the snout.
  5.  The couple will receive a time for the event.
  6. Points are awarded for the event.
  7.  The couple will have points added to their total    

Wedding Planning

  1. This is a timed contest where each couple has to work together to complete the task.
  2. The couple will determine who will be blind folded and who will give directions.
  3. The blindfolded person has to go to three different stations.
  4. Station #1-Flowers | Station #2- Invitations and Marriage License | Station #3- Rings  
  5. The blindfolded person will then directed to go to the altar.
  6. Points will be rewarded for this event.

Chocolate Covered Hot Dog and Dill Pickle Eating Contest

  1. This is an eating contest between couples.
  2. There will a large table set up where couples will be compete against each other. 
  3. The Girl and the Guy have to each eat one chocolate covered hot dog and one chocolate covered dill pickle as fast as they can do it.
  4. To move on to the next round each couple must complete the contest. 
  5. The combined time of each couple is calculated.
  6. Points are awarded for the event.
